My name is Debbie Holland. I currently reside in Jupiter, Florida. I am interested in life coaching through Christian Leaders Institute. Most recently, I was blessed to be married to a pastor and we served in three different pastorates during our time together this side of Heaven. My beloved husband passed away on December 10th, 2018 from a very rare and aggressive brain cancer.

Among some of my God-given gifts are a passion for coaching, encouraging, disciplining, mentoring, and teaching people. As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a cheerleader.  Though that never happened at that time, it has become a reality in adulthood. I love cheering people on to success.

I have been an advocate for healthy living for over 40 years after making some major lifestyle changes of my own when I was eighteen. As a result of that passion, I became Certified Personal Trainer and an RRCA Certified Distance Running Coach. Equipped with that training, I eagerly set out on a mission to change as many lives as possible through life coaching.

It didn’t take very long before I began feeling a great deal of frustration when I saw a lack of commitment from clients. I quickly realized that I cannot change anyone! Through this I learned a valuable lesson. I can’t want something more for someone than they want it for themselves. They have to make a choice.

Once we figure out what the client wants and they have made a decision to work toward their goals, I can help coach them into creating a plan of action and then assist in managing the plan. The change has to come from within the person I am coaching whether it be for fitness lifestyle changes or other life endeavors. This is a way Christian Leaders can help.

In my own life, I have found that pain has been the greatest effector of change. By the grace of God, in some of my darkest hours, I was able to recognize that I was the one who held the key to my failure or success, not anyone else.
